Designed to collect less data

SarkariCost does not require an account, name, email address, phone number, or Aadhaar number to submit a cost report.

Information a report can contain

A report can contain the selected government service, state/UT, optional district and office/area, date, payment breakdown, completion time, completion status, channel used, and an optional short comment.

Anti-abuse data

The site creates a random anonymous browser identifier in local storage. The backend uses temporary cryptographic hashes derived from that identifier and the connecting network address to detect rapid repeat submissions and duplicates. Raw network addresses and the browser identifier are not stored in the permanent report table. Anti-abuse events are automatically deleted after a short retention period.

Cloudflare

The site is designed to run on Cloudflare Workers, D1, static assets, and Turnstile. Network requests therefore pass through Cloudflare infrastructure. The operator should keep the public privacy notice aligned with the Cloudflare products and any analytics actually enabled in production.

Public information

Accepted reports can publicly show the report date, state, optional district/office area, payment breakdown, completion information, and an approved comment. Do not submit personal information about yourself or another person.

Contact and legal text

Before a public launch, the operator should add a real contact method, legal entity/operator name if applicable, grievance/contact process required for the intended operation, and the final retention policy. This project intentionally leaves those owner-specific details as deployment configuration rather than inventing them.
